Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee is back with the KINGZONE DragonX roster after a controversial suspension during the Spring Split.

Ahead of the second half of the Summer Split, LCK teams submitted their updated rosters. The Korean Esports Association announced these submissions through social media, and Rascal’s name stood out.

Rascal was suspended in March, when reports surfaced about LCK players making insensitive comments online about the suicide of former South Korean president Roh Moo-hyunt.

Two other players were involved: Afreeca Freecs’ Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram and Hanwha Life Esports’ Yoon “Seonghwan” Seong-hwan.

Because the comments were made outside of websites directly related to League of Legends, it was the team organizations, not Riot Games, who were responsible for the punishment. KING-ZONE decided to suspend Rascal indefinitely.

Now, Rascal is back on the roster. The reason for this decision could be Kim “Khan” Dong-ha’s recent performance. KING-ZONE represented the LCK in the Mid-Season Invitational and had a mediocre showing despite making it to the final.

In the Summer Split, KING-ZONE is failing to find their usual pace and have fallen down the standings. Bringing back Rascal could change the team’s performance.

The issues for the team start with the junglers. Both Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan and Han “Peanut” Wang-ho are inconsistent in their play. The junglers are often caught out of position and fail to help the rest of the team.

Kim “PraY” Jong-in is not having a good split either. AD carries are struggling in general because of the changes to marksmen itemization.

In the top lane, Khan is losing lane more often than not. Not even his iconic Jayce is doing the trick anymore, hence the return of Rascal.

KING-ZONE and Rascal are still in the race for a spot in the playoffs, and the team has already accrued 90 championship points as Spring Split champions. No word has yet been given as to when Rascal might see play.
