span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Team Liquid has qualified for the 2018 NA LCS Summer Playoffs after a win over OpTic Gaming secured the team a bye in the playoffs.

Team Liquid has stayed ahead of the pack in the NA LCS, but this is the first time they’ve solidified themselves in the summer as the clear favorite in the North American region. A 2018 Spring Championship had Team Liquid firing on all cylinders, but a poor Mid Season Invitational performance extinguished much of the confidence in Liquid had brought to the international event.

Team Liquid is the favorite for the top seed in the NA LCS Summer Split, but there are a few potential challengers for that top spot. 100 Thieves is in hot pursuit of Team Liquid, with top laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho putting together a potential MVP campaign. Cloud9 has been scorching hot and look to have the potential to be the best team in the region.

For now, Team Liquid hold onto the NA crown, and with it, the title of “best in NA”.

OpTic Gaming had a dream scenario in Saturday’s game. Star Mid Laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage was able to first pick Akali, arguably the strongest mid laner in the game after her recent rework.

In classic Team Liquid fashion, Eugene “Pobelter” Park masterfully neutralized the assassin on Galio while Liquid won the game through a marked bot lane advantage.
