League of Legends streamer Thebausffs was banned for inting in League of Legends after going 0/12 on Quinn in the top lane.

League of Legends streamer and high ELO player Simon “Thebausffs” Hofverberg had one of his accounts banned after going 0/12 in the top lane on Quinn. Thebausffs is known for his attrition-heavy gameplay and proclivity to run up a lot of deaths over the course of the game. He famously pioneered the “inting Sion” strategy on his most well-known champion. This strategy involved eschewing concerns about KDA in order to forcefully split push and focus on damage to structures rather than enemies.

Thebausffs banned for inting after bad game

Thebausffs was banned on League of Legends earlier this week after a game in which he initially collected zero kills and 12 deaths while playing Quinn top lane. While most players might not be surprised by the streamer having this score on Sion, it’s less expected on Quinn. While Sion still gains some value from dying, reanimating in his zombified form, Quinn has no such advantage. At the same tine, Quinn is a ranged bully known for her ability to punish enemies and keep her lane opponent at arm’s reach, while Sion is a melee tank.

Thebausffs might have gotten himself some community respect and goodwill over his controversial Sion strategy, but his teammates seem less likely to give him credit on Quinn. The streamer exited the game to quickly find his account temporarily banned for inting, which implies that he was intentionally dying in order to make his opponent stronger. However, despite his 0/12 start, the Swedish streamer managed to claw back the game to the point where he was 6/18. This still isn’t a good score, but it’s certainly better than ending the game with no kill participation.

Thebausffs took to Twitter to joke about his ban, saying that he would go touch grass and return in 14 days’ time after the temporary suspension was up. It’s likely that a combination of reports from his teammates alongside Riot Games’ automatic suspension system led to the prompt banning of the streamer. While Riot Games has previously made efforts to undo unjust bannings of popular streamers, there’s no sign that the League of Legends developer will be making any effort to bring the notorious Sion player back early.

While community sentiment on Thebausffs is generally positive, fans on social media seemingly agreed that an 0/12 score would probably receive mass reports from both teams no matter the ELO or identity of the players involved. Everything considered, it’s unlikely that this will be the last time that fans see Thebausffs banned due to a high death count given his reputation, one that has led to him clashing with pro players like Hampus “Promisq” Mikael over his appearance as a guest host on the LEC broadcast.

The banning isn’t permanent, and fans won’t see Thebausffs banned for much longer than two weeks, with him indicating an intent to return to playing as normal.
