Anathan “ana” Pham could be returning to Dota 2 with a rebuilt T1 roster.
New leaks have emerged that suggest the two-time The International champion could make a comeback. The information was accidentally revealed on a recent Carlo “Kuku” Palad Twitch stream. T1’s captain showed that ana is competing with the team in organized scrims. While the information is not conclusive, it’s very possible that the highest-earning carry player of all time will return to the Dota Pro Circuit.
During a regular stream, T1 offlaner and captain Kuku accidentally tabbed into the post-game screen of a recent match. The page showed an organized practice match between T1 and fellow Southeast Asian team Yangon Galacticos. While most of the normal T1 roster was in attendance, the carry slot was occupied by an account called “man”. This account allegedly belongs to ana. Kuku himself confirmed that it was big news by quickly closing out of the game page and commenting on his mistake.
T1 Dota 2 roster with ana
If ana does join T1’s Dota 2 roster, it will most likely mean the removal of its current carry. If that is the only change, it would leave the team looking like this.
- Anathan “ana” Pham
- Karl “Karl” Baldovino
- Carlo “Kuku” Palad
- Kenny “Xepher” Deo
- Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon
In the Dota Pro Circuit Winter Tour, T1 earned a third-place finish and $27,000 with a 5-2 match record. The squad successfully defeated Team SMG but lost to Fnatic in the second to fourth place tiebreakers. T1 qualified for the $100,000 SEA Regional Finals starting February 11, 2022. ana will not be able to compete with T1 at the event, but he could join before the start of the Spring DPC season.
This would be ana’s fifth comeback into professional Dota 2. The TI8 and 9 champion carry left and rejoined OG a total of three times throughout his career. His final tenure on the squad lasted just a single DPC season and included a name change to “humblegod”. ana will most likely go back to his old name if he returns to T1’s Dota 2 roster.
