Riot Games is once again trying to rid Valorant of toxic players in a new real-time text evaluation system.

Valorant community is not for the weak-kneed. Riot’s FPS roped in players from some of the best games in the shooter genre. Fortnite, Overwatch, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive were the top three to contribute to Valorant’s player base. Naturally, the game was crammed with nurtured players from the outset who were overly confident and loud. Valorant has grown over two years, so the player base continues to have more bad actors.

Fortunately, Riot Games isn’t backing out. After introducing several other features to shut down chat toxicity in Valorant, the developer has lifted the curtain on real-time text evaluation to nip it in the bud.

What is real-time text evaluation in Valorant?

Real-time text evaluation is a feature that will mute players in chat who send disruptive messages in-game. Interventions for disruptive text will now be applied sooner rather than later as the Riot continues updating the systems to evaluate more types of text communication.

So, players won’t have to go out of their way to mute an enemy who’s being disruptive and disrespectful in the Valorant chat. The smart system will trigger an auto-mute when necessary.

“With the implementation of more immediate text evaluation, we hope to detect and reduce disruptive situations while players are still in the game and help you feel safer to engage in Valorant,” Valorant’s community manager Jo-Ellen Aragon said.

This system has only been applied in North America and will be rolled out across other regions eventually. There’s no set date when it will be added to the game worldwide, but it might be a while. For now, players are grateful that Riot is taking steps to suppress and eliminate chat toxicity in Valorant.

These changes will begin in the Valorant patch 5.10 update on November 16.
