FACEIT’s Major qualifier for the Americas region saw compLexity and Rogue winning spots at the next Counter-Strike major.

The grand final saw Rogue and compLexity battling it out for the bigger share of the $50,000 prize pool. After a landslide 16-3 victory for compLexity on Mirage, they achieved a more difficult 16-14 victory on Dust 2, giving them the set victory by a 2-0 margin.

So it was that compLexity would go home with $30,000 and a spot in the major, while Rogue took $15,000 with their own major qualification. eUnited came out in third, only getting $5,000 and narrowly missing out on a coveted opportunity at one of the year’s biggest events in esports.

In the group stage, Group A saw NRG Esports and eUnited come out on top with 2-0 and 2-1 records respectively, eliminating Swole Patrol and Brazilian side Não Tem Como. Rogue and compLexity topped Group B, eliminating Dignitas and Furia eSports from the tournament.

In the playoffs, Rogue and compLexity plowed through the semifinals, with Rogue winning 2-1 against eUnited and coL winning 2-1 in an upset over NRG. Rogue continued their dominating play in the upper bracket final, knocking compLexity into the lower bracket with a decisive 2-0 sweep.

eUnited would hold their own against NRG Esports in the first loser’s match, coming out on top 2-1 only to then be eliminated by compLexity in the lower bracket final with a spot in the major on the line.

The $1,000,000 FACEIT Major in London will be FACEIT’s first ever major and is set to take place from September 5th to the 23rd. FACEIT’s Major qualifier for the Americas region, aptly named the Americas Minor Championship, took place from from July 7th to the 11th.
