Capcom is finally tearing back the curtain on its remake of Resident Evil 4, and the voice actors it hired are top-notch.
Resident Evil 4 has stood the test of time as one of the best games ever made, and Capcom is treating its masterpiece with reverence. Early trailers have given a brief look into the Spanish countryside, and no expense seems to have been spared. This extends to the game’s voice actors as well, with several household names in the studio.
Capcom has officially released the Japanese voice actors for the Resident Evil 4 remake, but only a few VAs have been confirmed for the English adaptation. The full cast will definitely become known before the game’s planned release date of March 24, 2023.
Leon Kennedy voice actor for Resident Evil 4 Remake
The voice actor for Leon Kennedy in the Resident Evil 4 Remake will be Nick Apostolides. Apostolides is an Emmy-nominated VA best known for his work in gaming with appearances in Life is Strange, Call of Duty, and Capcom’s own Resident Evil 2 remake. He played a younger Leon Kennedy in that game, making him the logical choice for the newest entry. He also gave Leon his voice in the Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness animated series that was released in 2021.
The Japanese version of the Resident Evil 4 remake will feature the voice of highly-acclaimed anime voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa. He is best known for playing Yoshikage Kira in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Sephiroth in Final Fantasy, and Dante from Devil May Cry. He is credited in dozens of anime productions, though his iconic lower tones may only come into play for the latter half of the game.
Ashley Graham voice actor for Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4’s co-lead Ashley Graham will be voiced by Akari Kito for the original Japanese audio. Kito is another gaming VA veteran with more than 60 total credits. Her most famous role in the west is likely Nezuko Kamado in Demon Slayer, though she has also appeared in Genshin Impact, Arknights, Fire Emblem Engage, and River City Girls 2.
The English actor for Ashley Graham has yet to be revealed. Model Ella Freya has confirmed that she provided the movements and likeness for the character for motion capture, but she has not stated if she will also be Ashley’s voice actor. The character did not appear in Infinite Darkness, so there’s not much precedent to go off of. We’ll update this page once the English voice actor for Ashley Graham is revealed by Capcom.
Ada, Luis, and Ramon VAs revealed for Resident Evil 4 remake
In addition to the two leads, Capcom has already spoiled some of the voice actors for the game’s iconic side characters.
First is shadowy spy and femme fatale Ada Wong. Her Japanese voice actor is Junko Minagawa, who returns to the role 11 years after first voicing Ada. Minagawa often voices male characters, including Xingqiu in Genshin Impact and the male protagonist of Pokemon Masters. Her English equivalent is confirmed to be Lily Gao. Gao played the live-action version of Ada Wong in the 2021 film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, making her a natural choice. She has also appeared in Letterkenny and The Handmaid’s Tale.
Luis Sera, who is Leon’s first ally in Spain, will be voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda. The Japanese voice actor is a frequent face in video games, voicing characters in Fire Emblem Engage, Granblue Fantasy, and more. He also plays Kishibe in the ongoing anime adaption of Chainsaw Man.
In the Japanese version, anime veteran Cho will bring Ramon Salazar to life for the Resident Evil 4 remake. Cho’s voice is best known for Brook in One Piece, where his energetic and bouncy voice stands out strong. He generally plays older gentlemen, which fits the ambiguous-aged Salazar perfectly.
Unfortunately, the English voice actors for Luis and Ramon are not yet known. We’ll update this page once Capcom reveals more information on the voice actors for the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4.
