The Pokémon World Championship 2023 is coming this summer, and more official information has been dropped.
Trainers around the world are preparing for the World Championship 2023, which will have multiple tournaments and a pretty hefty prize pool. From the card game to the video game to Pokémon GO, competitors have been competing in regionals across the country to qualify for Worlds.
Here’s everything you need to know about Worlds this year.
Pokémon Worlds 2023 date and location
Last year, the Pokémon World Championship took place at the ExCel London convention center. This time around, the action is heading to Yokohama, Japan.
Worlds will start on August 11, 2023, and end on August 13, 2023. The first day of the competition will start at 9:45 AM JST. For more information on the schedule as it’s revealed, check out the official Pokémon website.
Games at Pokémon Worlds
Pokémon Day 2023 was full of big reveals, including the games that will have tournaments at Pokémon Worlds. Here are the four games to check out.
The first is the Pokémon VCG Championship, which will be played on Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Then there is the TCG, arguably the largest of all competitions when it comes to the number of players. Pokémon UNITE and GO will also have their championship tournaments.
Last year, there were actually five games at Worlds. That’s because Pokken Tournament DX was also on the schedule. This time around, however, the game has been dropped.
How to watch the Pokémon World Championship 2023
Just like last year, Worlds will be held in person. But you can watch the action online by heading to Pokémon’s Twitch channel. This is where you’ll be able to watch the VGC and TCG competitions. If you’re more interested in Pokémon UNITE and Pokémon GO, you’ll need to head to their designated channels.
